Welcome to the Hayling Island Choir

This website  is intended to give you some general information about the Choir, and tell you how we work and what is expected of our members We are a mixed choir with a membership of about 60. It was in 1984 that the call went out to Hayling Islanders to 'Come, sing with Joy' that resulted in the Choir being formed. The invitation is still open today, and we welcome new members and we emphasise fun - we are a friendly, social, community Choir - our rehearsals are enjoyable ! As with most choirs, Men are in short supply and are particularly welcomed. We sing in four parts - Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass (SATB) Whilst the abilty to read music and even to sight read is desirable it is by no means  a requirement for joining the choir. All that we ask is that you can sing in tune, and blend with the rest of the choir. We usually perform three concerts a year. We are a registered Charity (Reg. No.1104539) and as such one of our objectives is to foster music among young people.
